How to Choose the Right Comic Display for Your Collection

Your best books deserve better than a long box. A good comic display protects the book, shows off the cover art, and turns a collection into something you can actually enjoy every day. But with graded slabs, raw comics, graphic novels and thicker PSA-style slabs all in the mix, picking the right comic display comes down to a few simple questions.

1. Is your comic graded or raw?

This is the first fork in the road.

• Graded (CGC, CBCS or PSA slab): You want a frame built around the slab itself. Our CAPE graded comic displays are a full-frame solution, and our ORIGINAL graded comic displays are an open-sided frame that lets the slab take center stage.
• Raw (top loader or capsule): The CLOAK is made for raw comics in top loaders or capsules.
• One comic, simple setup: The PORTAL comic stand is a single-comic stand for when you just want one book up and visible.

2. What size is your slab?

Not every graded book is the same thickness. For the CAPE, here is how sizing breaks down:

• Standard: fits standard-size CGC and CBCS slabs.
• Thick: our PSA slab frame. It also fits thicker, square-bound graded books, which run roughly 2mm thicker than Standard.
• XL: fits graded graphic novels.

The ORIGINAL follows the same idea, with a Wide size for thick slabs and an XL for graphic novel and magazine slabs. If you are between sizes, contact us and we will help you pick before you buy.

3. Legend or Classic?

Both the CAPE and the ORIGINAL come in two styles. Legend is designed to pair with our magnetic modular logos for a fully branded look. Classic is a clean, minimalist option that keeps all the attention on the comic. Modular logos are sold separately, so you can start with the frame and add a logo later. One note: the Low Profile version does not support logo integration.

4. Wall or shelf?

You do not have to decide up front. Our displays can be wall-mounted or set on a shelf, so you can build a gallery wall, fill a bookcase, or do both. If you want a showpiece, take a look at our LIGHTBOX illuminated displays.

A quick display tip

Wherever you hang or set your books, keep them out of direct sunlight and away from heat sources like radiators and fireplaces. Long-term light exposure and temperature swings are tough on paper, even inside a slab.
